WELCOME NEW HEFCU MEMBERS! Welcome to the Healthcare Employees Federal Credit Union! This merger between Health Care of NJ FCU and HEFCU is a culmination of months of hard work from both staffs. HEFCU has been serving healthcare related facilities throughout New Jersey since 1984. Once you are registered for HEFCU@Home, simply download the app and log in with the same user ID and password as you used for online banking. Will my loan details, including interest rate and payment amount, stay the same at HEFCU? Yes, the merger will not impact your loan agreement with HCNJ in any way. Your outstanding loan balance, interest rate, and payment scheduled will remain the same. Likewise, your contractual payment obligation does not change.
Will it be harder to get a loan from HEFCU? Our underwriting process is similar to what was used by HCNJ. Our loan officers evaluate the following factors: gross income, current and past credit history, outstanding debt, and collateral (if applicable). This review will determine qualification and will help insure the best interests of all our members. We also adhere to various compliance and regulatory requirements. Upon approval, you will be notified by a loan representative. Upon receipt of a complete loan request, a consumer loan application can be processed with the same business day. Home equity applications require additional processing time. If a loan request is turned down, an Adverse Action Notice will be mailed indicating the reason(s) for this action. HEFCU online loan applications make it easy to apply for any of our loan products, 24/7. You can also contact our main office for a loan application to be taken over the phone, faxed, emailed or mailed to you. In addition, a supply of loan applications are located at the Mt. Holly and Willingboro branch office. Please keep in mind, a loan representative works personally with applicants.
Where will a new loan closing take place? For member convenience, we offer an array of options for loan closings. We can e-sign your loan documents–a loan officer will walk you through the process. You can come into the Mt. Holly, Willingboro or our main office located in Princeton (during normal business hours). We can also fax, email, or mail you the loan documents. You select which option best meets your needs.
If I have an automatic payment set up to pay my loan at the credit union, will it continue? Yes, you can continue automatic loan payments from your payroll or from another financial institution. Kindly be sure they have HEFCU’s Routing and Transit Number is 231288811 and your HEFCU account number.
How can I make my loan payment if it isn’t set up automatically? The Mt. Holly branch will remain open. You can either mail or drop off loan payments at the branch during normal business hours, whichever method is more convenient. If you currently make your loan payment using a coupon book, you can continue to use those coupons. If you need a new coupon book, simply give our loan department a call for an updated coupon book for your remaining payments.
I have payment protection set up on my loan accounts, will that change? If you elected credit insurance on your loan at origination, we mailed you an Insurance Change Notification on 04/22/2019.
My loan was being reported to Experian, will it continue to be? Yes, HEFCU loans are reported to two nationwide Credit Reporting Agencies: Experian and Trans Union.
I have an outstanding auto loan, do I need to continue to have a lienholder on my insurance policy? Yes. As the lienholder on your vehicle, we depend on comprehensive and collision insurance to protect our credit union from uninsured loss. The terms of your loan contract require this coverage for the life of the loan. HEFCU uses a system to track and monitor the insurance status of our loans. If you receive a letter asking for proof of insurance, please send in your documentation as soon as possible to avoid any inconvenience.
Who should I contact in the event I have loan related questions or concerns? You can call or stop by the Mount Holly office. Or, feel free to contact our HEFCU loan team at 800-624-3312, option #3, or email us at email@example.com
